La sua bella assistente s'innamora di lui. Dal romanzo di G.S. Forrester, un film avvincente, intelligente e convincente, sebbene realizzato con pochi mezzi
Il titolo riprende l'ordine categorico dato da Winston Churchill alla flotta inglese, già decimata dagli U-Boat tedeschi, dopo che nei mari del Nord ha fatto la sua comparsa la più terribile nave da guerra mai costruita. A eseguire l'ordine è chiamato, in primo luogo, il capitano Shepard che ha più di un motivo, anche personale, per volere la sconfitta nazista. Gli è accanto il tenente Anne Davis, che cerca di fare breccia nel cuore indurito dell'ufficiale.
A metà tra propaganda e rievocazione epica, con un capitano ossessionato dal ditruggere il titanico nemico marino. Gilbet trova un equilibrio tra tali eterogenei elementi con una regia da manuale, aiutato dalla buona prova del cast.[/color]
